This section of sheilasinfopages.com will cover metal detecting; metal detector finds, tips and trick for metal detecting, the best places to go with your metal detector, treasure hunting stories and more.

I have had an interest in metal detecting since I was probably eight years old. The year was 1970 and I watched an elderly gentleman working a long side walk with what appeared to me to be an old White's metal detector that was bigger than me. I walked with him for about 10 minutes (nothing has changed, how many kids follow you around now?) when he got a loud beep and I knelt down to see what it was. My eyes about popped out of my head when he popped out a Standing Liberty quarter! I have been hooked from that moment on.

When I was little I wanted to grow up to be an archaeologist. In fact, I was the only kid in my school who could even spell the word at 6 years old. I won a lot of games of hangman with that word.......... Even though I pursued other interests, the longing is still here. Maybe some day I will follow up on my dream again. For now I will just keep on beepin!

Digging something up from the past that has been frozen in time for several years is exhilerating to say the least. Even if you find an old 1936 mercury dime it is very cool to know that it probably had not been touched by human hands for 60 years or more.

As this portion of the site grows I hope that many will want to post their stories and pictures here. If you have a story or photo to share click on my name at the top and send me an email.
